During my stay at the Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina, Switzerland, I took a tour of this glamorous & exclusive hotel and discovered a secret bowling alley within the depths of the basement! We also explored the private wine cellar which still contains the gigantic wine barrels and skis, dating back to the turn of the twentieth century. Hotel guests can enjoy cheese fondue or Raclette once a week in winter season in the basement for a unique experience.

During the First and Second World War, it was the Veltliner wine shop in the cellar, which turned out to be a reliable source of income during times of crisis. That helped the Kronenhof to overcome those challenging years.
