This was the last Biohazard album with Bobby Hambel, who left due to differences with the remainder of the band. Hambel spent time in White Devil, also featuring members of the Cro-Mags, prior to seemingly leaving the music organization completely. In late 1995, the band, along with Treatment? and Gunshot, contributed remixes to the Pitchshifter album.

It was produced with the help of Dave Jerden. For the 199697 Mata Leao Trip, the band hired previous Helmet guitarist Rob Echeverria. The band also used the Ozzfest mainstage alongside Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer, Danzig, Worry Factory, and Sepultura. While touring Europe in support of the Mata Leao album, the band taped their Hamburg, Germany, show for their very first live album, No Holds Disallowed (Live in Europe), which was released in 1997 through their previous label, Roadrunner Records.

The character was introduced in the second season and appeared throughout the series' 6th and final season. The band signed to Mercury Records and launched their 5th studio album, New World Condition, in 1999, once again with Ed Stasium as a manufacturer. The relationship with Mercury Records soured rapidly as the band felt betrayed and misinterpreted by the label.

In 2000, the band continued to visit Europe and Japan, without the support of a record label or management. In 2001, the band released a collection album entitled. The album consisted of different B-sides and remixes from numerous periods in the band's recording history. The album was launched by the Phantom Noise & Vision label.

Leo Curley, of Outline and All Way Necessary, was employed as his replacement. In the very same year, Biohazard signed two brand-new record offers with SPV/Steamhammer in Europe and Sanctuary Records for the remainder of the world. Despite the brand-new record deals, the band took some personal time in order to work on other jobs.

After composing and recording around twenty tunes for the task called Blu, Bair moved to Los Angeles, California to continue an art career and the job dissolved. Graziadei likewise started deal with a book, Tales From The Hardside. Schuler utilized his downtime to carry out with New york city band Amongst Thieves as a replacement drummer for the departing Will Shepler.
