Gulmarg, Srinager, Kashmir, India: Gulmarg at Srinagar, Kashmir is considered as the Switzerland of India. The two most famous tourist attractions of Gulmarg are Kongdori at an altitude of nearly 10,000 feet or 3050 metre and mount Afarwat approximately at an altitude of 13500 feet or 4200 meter. Both Kongdori and Afarwat can be reached by cable car Gondola. The Gulmarg Gondola in Jammu and Kashmir is the world's highest operating cable car. This Gondola operates in two phases. First phase takes you to Kongdori and second phase takes you to Afarwat Mountain peak. This was in the month of May, 2014 and as you see in this video the entire first phase i.e Kongdori area is covered with thick ice. Ice scooters are cruising over there. Gulmarg, Kashmir also has world's highest and longest skiing slope from Afarwat to Kongdori. Gulmarg is the most important tourist destination of Sriinagar, Kashmir. The Gondola ride at Gulmarg itself is a memory for the life.
